Skuteczność ublituksymabu w praktyce klinicznej Artykuł przeglądowy

Abstrakt
Stwardnienie rozsiane jest przewlekłą chorobą neurozapalną, w której istotną rolę odgrywają limfocyty B uczestniczące w procesie demielinizacji i neurodegeneracji. Wprowadzenie przeciwciał monoklonalnych anty-CD20 zmieniło podejście do leczenia stwardnienia rozsianego, a jednym z najnowszych leków z tej grupy jest ublituksymab. Lek ten wykazuje wysoką skuteczność w redukcji liczby rzutów choroby oraz zmian demielinizacyjnych widocznych w badaniach MRI, co potwierdzono w badaniach ULTIMATE I i II. Ublituksymab okazał się skuteczniejszy od teryflunomidu pod względem ograniczania aktywności choroby, choć nie wykazano istotnych różnic w progresji niepełnosprawności. Dane z obserwacji długoterminowych oraz analiz real-world evidence potwierdzają trwałą skuteczność i korzystny profil bezpieczeństwa terapii. Wyniki badań wskazują również na korzyści wynikające z wczesnego wprowadzenia wysoko efektywnego leczenia u pacjentów z rzutowo-remisyjną postacią stwardnienia rozsianego.
