Abstrakt
Liraglutyd jest agonistą receptora GLP-1 o udokumentowanej skuteczności w leczeniu otyłości u dorosłych oraz dzieci i młodzieży od 6. r.ż. Charakteryzuje się korzystnym profilem bezpieczeństwa, stopniowym schematem dawkowania oraz dobrą tolerancją ze strony układu pokarmowego. Artykuł przedstawia mechanizm działania liraglutydu, jego miejsce w algorytmach terapeutycznych, rolę w chirurgii metaboliczno-bariatrycznej oraz profil chorego, dla którego stanowi on korzystny wybór. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na możliwość stopniowego zwiększania dawki do 3,0 mg/24 h, co może przyczynić się do zmniejszenia działań niepożądanych ze strony układu pokarmowego. Liraglutyd pozostaje wartościową opcją terapeutyczną, zwłaszcza dla chorych wymagających większej tolerancji pokarmowej, przy nawrotach choroby otyłościowej po operacji bariatrycznej oraz w sytuacjach, gdy kwestie ekonomiczne mają istotne znaczenie.
