Abstrakt

Apiksaban jest bezpośrednim doustnym lekiem przeciwkrzepliwym stosowanym w profilaktyce i leczeniu chorób zakrzepowo-zatorowych. Lek charakteryzuje się przewidywalną farmakokinetyką, niewielkim ryzykiem interakcji oraz brakiem konieczności rutynowego monitorowania parametrów krzepnięcia. Badania kliniczne potwierdziły jego wysoką skuteczność w prewencji udaru mózgu, leczeniu żylnej choroby zakrzepowo-zatorowej oraz profilaktyce po zabiegach ortopedycznych. Dane z literatury zawierają rekomendacje dotyczące stosowania apiksabanu w sytuacjach klinicznych niewymienionych w charakterystyce produktu leczniczego (ChPL): u wybranych pacjentów z bezobjawowymi napadami migotania przedsionków wykrytymi przez urządzenia wszczepialne. Szczególne korzyści obserwuje się u pacjentów obciążonych chorobami współistniejącymi, w tym z zaburzoną funkcją nerek lub podwyższonym ryzykiem krwawienia.
