Dear Readers,
the drive to reduce the scope of surgical procedures, while improving quality and limiting complications, has led to the introduction of surgical robots to operating rooms. This direction of development of modern medicine is particularly important for contemporary oncological surgery, giving the opportunity for very precise treatment with an increasingly smaller number of complications. This aspect also applies to thoracic surgery and contemporary, constantly developing strategies for surgical procedures, especially concerning lung cancers. These problems are discussed based on a review of the current literature by practicing thoracic surgeons from the Center of Pulmonary Diseases in Olsztyn, Poland.
The next two proposals for our readers concern interesting clinical cases, which concern: diagnostic and therapeutic problems in the case of left atrial myxoma and a rarely described in the literature problem from the field of pediatric oncology, which is pilocytic astrocytoma complicated by hydrocephalus.
As always, I wish you an interesting and inspiring read,
