Dear Readers,

It is my pleasure to present the latest issue of “OncoReview”, focused on the clinical value of case reports. Although they cannot replace randomized trials or large observational studies, carefully documented cases remain highly relevant to everyday practice. They illustrate uncommon clinical situations and show how evidence should be adapted to the individual patient – particularly in cardio-oncology and other fields of interdisciplinary cardiology.

The first article, prepared by a multidisciplinary team from Gdańsk, Poland, describes recurrent ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction in a patient with multiple myeloma. It highlights the complex interplay between malignancy, prothrombotic anticancer therapy, severe lipid disorders, and rapidly progressive coronary artery disease.

The second report, presented by authors from Rzeszów, Poland, addresses whether advanced age should exclude patients from potentially life-prolonging therapy. Successful nivolumab treatment in an 88-year-old patient with melanoma, severe aortic stenosis, and high cardiovascular risk demonstrates the importance of individualized decision-making and close cardio-oncological supervision.

The international contribution, prepared by authors from India, Iraq, and Nepal, presents a rare spinal pilocytic astrocytoma in a child and emphasizes the importance of precise diagnosis, microsurgical treatment, and long-term follow-up.

Together, these reports confirm that case-based literature remains an important source of practical knowledge and interdisciplinary exchange.

Enjoy your reading.

With best regards,
