Acemetacin compared to other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs: A literature review Review article
Main Article Content
Abstract
Acemetacin is an indoleacetic acid derivative and a prodrug of indomethacin, one of the classic, potent nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It was introduced into clinical practice to reduce adverse effects, particularly gastrointestinal toxicity, while maintaining therapeutic efficacy. The aim of this review is to compare acemetacin with other NSAIDs in terms of its mechanism of action, pharmacokinetic properties, clinical efficacy, and safety profile.
