The main area of OncoReview's  scientific mission is the emerging field of interdisciplinary oncology, with particular emphasis on cardio-oncology. Scientific papers published in the journal concern modern diagnostic and therapeutic methods used in this population of patients, as well as all adverse events related to anticancer treatment. Objective assessment of the benefits and risks of new oncological drugs is a unique benefit of the published works.

Vol 15 No 2(58) (2025)

Dear Readers,

it is my pleasure to introduce the second issue of “OncoReview” in 2025, which brings together valuable contributions from authors representing leading Polish oncology centers. This edition focuses on clinically relevant challenges that oncologists encounter in everyday practice, highlighting both advances in therapeutic strategies and practical approaches to supportive care.

One of the key themes addressed in this issue is the management of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV), a complication that remains one of the most burdensome adverse effects of anticancer therapy for patients. In her comprehensive article, Agnieszka Jagiełło-Gruszfeld discusses the real- world perspective of CINV prevention in routine oncological practice, emphasizing evidence-based strategies that can significantly improve patients’ quality of life and adherence to treatment.

Complementing this perspective, Łukasz Hajac and colleagues present an overview of modern approaches to CINV prophylaxis. Their review highlights how contemporary antiemetic regimens allow for effective symptom control while simplifying treatment protocols, ultimately improving comfort for both patients and healthcare teams.

The issue also explores the evolving landscape of immunological therapies in hematologic malignancies. Piotr Duda and co-authors provide a literature review on the modulation of the innate immune system in the treatment of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. This article discusses emerging therapeutic concepts and the growing importance of immune-based strategies in modern hemato-oncology.

Together, the articles included in this issue reflect the dynamic development of oncology in Poland and demonstrate how advances in immunotherapy and supportive care translate into tangible benefits for patients. By addressing both innovative therapeutic mechanisms and everyday clinical challenges, this edition aims to support oncologists in making informed, patient-centered decisions in their daily practice.

I hope that the insights presented in this issue will prove useful for clinicians and researchers alike, and will continue to stimulate discussion and collaboration within the oncology community.

Enjoy your reading.
With best regards,
