Abstract

The course of plane pollen season in Szczecin, Zielona Gora, Lublin, Drawsko Pomorskie, Bydgoszcz, Piotrkow Trybunalski, Warsaw, Wroclaw, Sosnowiec and in Olsztyn in the year 2014 was presented. Measurements were performed by the volumetric method (Lanzoni 2000 or Burkard pollen sampler). Pollen season was defined as the period in which 98% of the annual total catch occurred. The pollen season of plane started first in Szczecin on the 18th of April and in the other cities it started during the next 2 weeks. The differences of pollen seasons duration were considerable. The highest airborne concentration of 35 pollen grains/m3 was noted in Zielona Gora on the 6th of May and in Szczecin (26 pollen grains/m3) on the 7th of May. The high pollen count of plane has a local character resulting from the number of trees in cities.
