Abstract

Introduction: Alzheimer’s disease accounts for 60–70% of dementia cases and affects approximately 500,000 Poles. Between 1992 and 2021, there was a global increase in cases by 141%. Long asymptomatic periods (15–20 years) and prodromal symptoms complicate early diagnosis.
Objective: To present diagnostics, symptomatic treatment, and challenges in Poland, based on a clinical case report.
Conclusions: Early diagnosis (interview + screening tests) is crucial before the introduction of anti-amyloid therapies. Barriers: stigma and low awareness. Recommended: public education and prioritizing biomarker testing.
