Abstrakt

Dyskutowany w ostatnich latach problem zaburzeń mikrobioty i stabilności bariery jelitowej wiąże się z pytaniem o wskazania do suplementacji zarówno probiotykiem, prebiotykiem, jak i preparatami maślanu sodu. Jego rola w regeneracji i utrzymaniu integralności bariery jelitowej i – co za tym idzie – korzystnego profilu zasiedlających bakterii ma kardynalne znaczenie dla prawidłowego funkcjonowania jelita grubego. Zaburzenia tego układu prowadzą do nieprawidłowości w funkcjonowaniu jelit, zwłaszcza zaburzeń osi mózgowo-trzewnej (DGBI, disorders of gut-brain interaction, według Kryteriów rzymskich V, wcześniej – zespołu jelita nadwrażliwego). Nie bez znaczenia jest przyjmowanie antybiotyków z różnych wskazań czy innych leków w terapii przewlekłej, które niekorzystnie wpływają na mikrobiotę jelitową. Przedstawione najczęstsze sytuacje kliniczne nakreślają jedne ze wskazań do praktycznego zastosowania probiotyku, prebiotyku i maślanu sodu.
