Abstrakt
Nieżyt nosa jest istotnym problemem zdrowotnym we wszystkich grupach wiekowych. Częstość występowania nieżytów nosa w Polsce, szczegól-nie alergicznego, znacząco wzrosła w ostatnich dwóch dekadach. Objawy nieżytu nosa, takie jak: niedrożność nosa, wydzielina, kichanie i świąd nosa, mogą znacząco obniżać jakość życia. Rozpoznanie alergicznego nieżytu nosa opiera się na charakterystycznym wywiadzie oraz dodatnich testach skórnych z alergenami i/lub na stwierdzeniu wysokiego stężenia swoistych przeciwciał IgE w surowicy. W 24–56% przypadków może występować lokalny alergiczny nieżyt nosa, w którym badaniem potwierdzającym rozpoznanie powinna być donosowa próba prowokacyjna z aler-genem. Autorzy prezentują aktualny stan wiedzy na temat lokalnego alergicznego nieżytu nosa.
