Abstrakt
Choroby alergiczne są coraz bardziej poważnym problemem zdrowotnym i społecznym w Polsce. Co trzecie dziecko odczuwa problemy związane z alergią. Jakość życia dzieci chorych na astmę może być znacznie obniżona przez charakterystyczne objawy choroby, takie jak świszczący oddech, kaszel, uczucie duszności i ucisku w klatce piersiowej. Mają one znaczący wpływ na obniżenie aktywności fizycznej dziecka, zwiększenie absencji w szkole, stan emocjonalny oraz gorsze wyniki w nauce. Z uwagi na liczne alarmujące doniesienia zagraniczne dotyczące negatywnego wpływu chorób alergicznych na jakość życia dzieci istotne jest przeprowadzenie w Polsce badań dotyczących omawianego zagadnienia, tym bardziej że w Polsce aspekt obejmujący czynniki warunkujące jakość życia dzieci chorych na alergie nie został dostatecznie zbadany. Jest to problem priorytetowy dla zdrowia publicznego ze względu na małą skalę doniesień naukowych.
